Marcel Kpoho has first taught mathematics before devoting himself to his artistic practice.

Committed to the environmental cause, he gives a second life to used tires to create unique artworks, sometimes monumental appropriating the space.

Working with the matter to face contemporary challenges

By using this non-biodegradable matter, which is omnipresent in the African urban landscape, Marcel Kpoho calls the spectator to deal with ecological issues facing the humanity.

According to the artist, the tire symbolizes “the black man strenght gradually replaced by rubber”.
