Policy on Use of Cookies

This Policy on Use of Cookies shall apply to the access to and the navigation on the website https://www.ellipseartprojects.org (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”) by the Internet user (hereinafter referred to as the “User”), regardless of the type of hardware (hereinafter referred to as the “Terminal”) and the browser (hereinafter referred to as the “Browser”) used.

The publisher of the Website is the Company Ellipse Projects located at 305, Avenue Le Jour Se Lève in 92100 BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”).
The object of the Policy on Use of Cookies is to inform the User of the specific purposes of the cookies used on the Website and of the possibilities for making relevant settings by his/her Browser for use of cookies.

Article 1 – What is a Cookie?

A “cookie” is a sequence of information, stored in a text file, identified by a name (ex: pll_language) which, subject to choices expressed by the User, is:

  • transmitted to User’s Browser at the time of User’s access to the Webs;
  • stored in User’s Terminal until the expiry of the specified period (ex: 30 minutes, 1 month, 12 months) for a persistent cookie or until the browser is closed by the User for a per-session cookie;
  • sent back by the Browser to the cookie issuer, when the User logs on again to the Website.

The Website uses first party cookies issued by the Company as Publisher of the Website.

The cookies used on the Website are intended to ensure the Website operation (Functional Cookies).

The Company is responsible for the collection and processing of personal data, in its capacity as data controller.

The Company reserves the right to make any amendments to the Policy on Personal data Processing.

Policy on Personal Data Processing

This Policy on Personal Data Processing (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy on Data Processing”) applies to the processing of personal data implemented within the context of access to and navigation on the Website https://www.ellipseartprojects.org (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”) by the Internet user (hereinafter referred to as the “User”).

The information relating to the use of cookies on the Website and to the methods allowing to set preferences for the use thereof is included in the Policy on Use of Cookies (see section 3 above).

Article 1 – Data Controller Identification

The data controller is the Company Ellipse Projects located at 305, Avenue Le Jour Se Lève in 92100 BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”).

Article 2 – Goals Pursued by the Company and the legal basis

Depending on the goals pursued by the Company, the processing of personal data has for legal bases:

  • the legitimate interest pursued by the Company, where the processing implemented aims at ensuring the Website security;
  • the compliance with the legal and regulatory obligations, where the processing implemented aims at managing requests for the exercise of the rights of the User;

Article 3 – Category and Mode of Collection of Personal Data

The personal data is collected directly from the User through cookies.

Article 4 – Recipients

The personal data collected is intended for the Company and for its authorized personnel.

No personal data shall be conveyed to third parties.

Article 5 – Absence of Data Transfers

Personal data shall not be transferred within or outside the European Union.

Article 6 – Periods of Conservation

Depending on the purpose of data processing, the lengths of time of conservation of the cookies are summarized in the table included in section 3. above.

Article 7 – User’s Rights

Under the conditions laid down by the Data Protection Act (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”) and the European Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the “EDPR”), the User has the right to access, rectify, delete, minimize personal data concerning him/her as well as the right to said data portability.

The User has also the right to establish the general and specific guidelines defining the manner in which he/she intends that the above-mentioned rights should be exercised after his/her death.

Under the conditions provided for by the Act and the EDPR, where the legal basis for data processing is the legitimate interest of the Company, unless the Company is able to demonstrate the existence of imperative and legitimate reasons for this processing, which prevail over the User’s interests, rights and liberties, the User shall be entitled, on grounds relating to his/her particular situation (legitimate reason), to object to the processing of data concerning him/her.

The User is entitled to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in France, namely the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) [French National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties].

Article 8 – Organizational and Security Measures

The Company implements adequate technical and organizational measures in order to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks for the rights and freedoms of the User.

Article 9 – Amendments

The Company reserves the right to make, at any time, any amendments to the Policy on Personal Data Processing.

Article 10 – Special case for the ellipse Prize

The Fund, as data controller, processes the personal data of applicants for the following purposes:

  • Statistics production ;
  • The correct functioning of the pre-registration form for the ;
  • The ellipse Prize newsletter;
  • The opportunity to apply for the ellipse Prize, to have your entry considered, to win the competition and to receive an award;
  • Follow-up of the winner.

The legal basis for the processing carried out is :

  • The consent of applicants to processing operations has been obtained;
  • The existence of the Fund’s legitimate interest, or that of a third party, which justifies its implementing the personal data processing concerned;
  • The performance of a contract between the Fund and applicants requires the processing of personal data, and the Fund is bound by legal and regulatory obligations that require the processing of personal data.

L’appel à candidatures est dédié aux artistes visuels 18/40 ans, résidant au Bénin ou béninois résidant sur le continent.

Les candidats doivent également être non représentés (en contrat) avec une galerie.

L’éligibilité de chaque candidat reste à l’appréciation de l’organisateur (voir détails dans le règlement ci-dessous).

Pour déposer votre candidature, il suffit de remplir ce formulaire en fournissant les informations obligatoires (*).

Les participants doivent également déposer un portfolio de leur travail (5 à 10 œuvres, template ci-dessous si besoin) ainsi qu’un projet d’exposition en lien avec la thématique 2024 (détaillée ci-dessous) qui fera l’objet de l’exposition du futur lauréat lors de la foire AKAA en octobre 2024 à Paris.

Apply for the Ellipse 2024 Prize

The call for applications is dedicated to visual artists aged 18/40, living in Benin or Beninese living on the continent.

Candidates must also be unrepresented (under contract) with a gallery.

The eligibility of each candidate remains at the discretion of the organizer (see details in the rules below).

Participants must also submit a portfolio of their work (5 to 10 artworks, template below if required) as well as an exhibition project in line with the 2024 theme (detailed below), which will be the subject of the future winner’s exhibition at the AKAA fair in October 2024 in Paris.
