The prize

The ellipse prize is a contemporary art competition established in 2021 which seeks to highlight each year a different country’s artistic creativity in France.

An original prize between visibility and mobility

The ellipse prize unveils the 2026 winner

Mohamed Radi

Born in Taroudant (Morocco) in 1999, Mohamed Radi develops an experimental and sculptural practice centred on leather, a material he diverts from its traditional artisanal and utilitarian function in order to reveal its organic, sensitive and mnemonic dimensions.

Through processes of cutting, layering and stratification, the artist creates textured surfaces marked by scars, tensions and traces of time. Leather becomes a living body, carrying memory, transformation and fragility.
