Working at the intersection of painting and sculpture, her practice is nourished by childhood memories, intuitive gestures and everyday objects diverted from their original function.

From familiar forms, she creates compositions in which matter becomes a space of experimentation and continuous transformation.

Matter in changing

By subjecting these elements to various material constraints, the artist gives rise to unstable forms oscillating between appearance and dissolution. Surfaces distort, fragment or appear suspended, generating a perceptual disturbance in which the image constantly escapes fixity.

Through this dialogue between memory, material and mutation, Safae El Kadi questions our relationship to the familiar and the strange. Her work opens ambiguous spaces where certainties waver, giving way to a sensitive experience shaped by uncertainty and transformation.
