On the occasion of their exhibition at the Cité international des arts, Atelier Ndokette reintroduces a Senegalese fabric, named “rabbal” in wolof or “leepi” in pulaar.
For the artists collective this white textile, which is charged by past stories, becomes the way to enhance their culture and heritage while embedding it in their own tale filled with dreams and memories.
Interested in the colors and material variations with which they work, the Atelier Ndokette collective is always searching for novelty.
Through their work, the artists feature textiles they consider as vectors of emotion, taking the form of both material and immaterial landscapes to represent the complexity of personal and collective narratives.
