ellipse Prize 2024 finalists

For the first time since the launch of the Prize, ellipse art projects organizes an exhibition featuring the five finalists of the 2024 edition, dedicated to the Beninese emerging art scene.

An unprecedented milestone in the history of th ellipse Prize

For the first time since the launch of the prize, a collective exhibition is organized for the benefit of the finalists, allowing them to present their work to the public residing in Benin, honored this year. This initiative marks a significant step in the history of the prize, offering artists a platform for dissemination and recognition on both international and local scenes.

Selected from 72 applications by an independent jury, the five finalists of the 2024 ellipse Prize are: Marcel Kpoho, Nella Aguessy, Nobel Koty, Maria Adjovi, and Nauld Adjahuime.

The exhibition is organized at Maison Rouge in Cotonou, from June 28 to July 19, 2024.

the artistic plurality of Benin

Gathered in Cotonou, the finalists embody the cultural richness of Benin, known for its unique heritage, voodoo rituals, and diverse artistic expressions. Through various mediums, these young talents address universal subjects such as identity, social issues, and environmental causes.

Ranging from painting to sculpture to photography, these artists share a common desire to explore and question the world around them, each bringing a unique perspective to the contemporary art scene.
