Thanks to the support of the endowment fund ellipse art projects, Rahayu Retnaningrum benefits from her first solo exhibition in France during the ninth edition of the Urban Art Fair.
A dialogue between
nature and architecture
For this solo show, Rahayu Retnaningrum presents “Space of Consciousness”, a project highlighting the contrast between nature and urban landscapes that have shaped her daily life.
Bringing together 8 works, this exhibition offers a window into a utopian world where seemingly opposing concepts interact: nature and architecture, permanence and instability, stillness and movement.
Mixing road signs, scaffolding, animals, and plants, Rahayu Retnaningrum explores how these elements coexist in an ever-changing urban landscape. In doing so, she creates a space devoid of human figures, where nature and artifacts enter into an intimate dialogue.
Rahayu Retnaningrum
Rahayu Retnaningrum is an Indonesian painter born in 1994, who participated in the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika project in 2023 in Jakarta.
Through her vibrant paintings, she constructs a surreal world shaped by her vision of nature and the evolution of contemporary architecture. At the heart of a poetic dialogue between the organic and the urban, Space of Consciousness invites us to rediscover the city, navigating between dream and reality.
