Atelier Ndokette’s exhibition at AKAA 2021 questioned the relationship to time and the passage of objects through it.
Gathered around the Ndokette, Senegalese traditional dress, it represents for them a gateway to a world in which memories (past) and the dreams (future) are projected on objects (present).
The work of the collective Atelier Ndokette is based on the research of a temporality not composed by three phases (past – present – future) but only one: the future as an integral part of the present and the past.
Atelier Ndokette puts the present as a temporality deserving more attention: a present revealing the conscious and the unconscious, the real and the unreal with many shades.
